"Our goal is to educate a new generation of professional applied artists. For this purpose it is necessary not only to teach skills, it is also important to cultivate taste and the ability to think outside the box, to know completely different approaches to solving problems and to communicate within the community. Not to be just a performer (although this is also very important and necessary), but to be an artist with his own view of the world, capable of solving both ordinary and complex creative problems".
The syllabus of each course is tailored to current trends. It's a mix of academic background and current trends in drawing and CG.
All the mentors teaching at Skills Up have an artistic background and work experience in well-known companies, are game developers, illustrators, 2D-, 3D-artists in different fields.
We place a special emphasis on communicating and supporting connections within the community. To this end, we constantly organize online and offline events, share our experiences live and in student chats, and release useful materials on YouTube, social media and other platforms.
We have customized course assignments to meet the real-world challenges of game and animation studios, and we are always sharing job and internship opportunities from our partners. Students say that already during their studies they find their first commercial orders and even a permanent job.
What to get an artist friend? Maybe a set of pencils? But he's drawing on a tablet... I think he said something about 2D graphics, but what level would suit him? And in general - are the environments or characters more interesting? We at Skills Up School have electronic gift certificates of any denomination (from 1000 rubles). They are valid for one year and apply to all courses, intensives and events (can be paid in full or in part). An artist friend will choose what he or she is interested in, gain knowledge and skills and will definitely be grateful to you!
