Character Concept: My First Hero

from 3 weeks
Beginner

About the Course

The concept art of a character is not about beautiful lines or complex rendering. It's about the image: the ability to find the character of a hero through silhouette, shape and sign — even before you take up the details.

In three modules, you will go through the full cycle of character creation: from warm-ups and first sketches to linart, color scheme and final rendering. Mikhail Logachev leads through each stage and analyzes the most common mistakes — those that usually waste time and results.

What You Will Learn

1. Image search: the ability to find the character of a character through silhouette and general shape.
2. Working with references: understanding how and when to use references in your work.
3. Linart: confident linear drawing without the most common mistakes.
4. Color and tonal decision: conscious palette selection and tone verification.
5. Rendering: working with light, shadow, glare and reflexes — from the beginning to the end.
6. Finished concept art: a finished character for the portfolio.
