What inspires you?

I am inspired by my present — everything I see around me, even insignificant things. For example, I recently saw a parked car with a broken hood by the roadside. It was so beautifully broken, it looked almost like an architectural object. The past also inspires me, as does the future.

Tell us about the most interesting project you've worked on.

The project "Orators", dedicated to famous orators of antiquity and our days. The condition was to show famous orators and artistically interpret their image.

I chose marble busts and gold inserts, worked in the ZBrush sculpting program and finished in Adobe Photoshop. My references were ancient marble busts and photographs. The most difficult part, of course, was working with photographs, as sculpture has a certain level of convention and it's easier to stylize it, while in photography it's necessary to remove the лишнего and leave the important.

I think I created a fairly coherent series. Many people appreciated it, especially on the Internet. Probably, today this is my most quoted series of works.

What does a great learning outcome mean to you as a teacher?

When a person has reached a qualitatively new result for themselves. I can only guide and suggest. After that, it's important to draw a conclusion from everything and move further towards the horizons of perfection.
