About the curator
"Drawing is not a goal, but a tool. Its task is to translate thought into form as quickly and accurately as possible."
I am a concept artist for characters and monsters. I worked at Game Art Pioneers, now I am working at 1C Game Studios on "War of the Worlds: Siberia".
My professional principle: Drawing is not an end in itself, but a tool. Its task is to translate thoughts into form as quickly and accurately as possible. Mastering this tool to the point of automatism allows you to realize even the most complex concepts without losing speed or quality.
Priorities in work:
1. A systematic approach is more important than technique.
A strong idea will withstand different visual solutions. No amount of detailed drawing will save a weak one.
2. Control of artistic foundations.
All basic skills must be covered so that they do not slow down the thought process. Technique serves the idea, not vice versa.
3. Constant analysis of top projects.
I study strong games and movies to understand how the best teams solve design challenges: functionality, readability, uniqueness, appropriateness in the setting.
My task as a curator is to guide the student through the program so that he not only completes tasks, but also understands the logic of design and learns to make professional decisions.
